Augustinerstr. 1, Munich
Classic pub atmosphere, rustic but beautiful furnishings. The decoration was also based on the theme, very coherently. The food was good, even if the "crust roast" was not cut from the pork belly, but from the knuckle. Service was very friendly and attentive. Price-performance ratio fits. Maybe some portions are a little too big ...
Food is fair, no English menu, one of the waitress/ shop manager with really poor manner...
Food top as always. Beer anyway. The hygiene concept in particular has been implemented perfectly. We look forward to the restart in December.
Super nice staff, refreshing beer and delicious food. You don't have to wait long for the welcome, the service and the food ... Thank you and see you soon
Food was cold ( Leberkäse), but I ordered it hot. Spezi was not sparkling, but still. Worst Spezi I had in Munich. Service was awful. They have brought 2 meals for 2 people with interval of 15 minutes. This is unacceptable, I do not want to watch how my colleague eats and then eat my own meal. After my comments service became angry and talked in a rude manner. Do not recommend this place
Delicious meal. Very nice service. Super fast everything. The ambience was nice too. Reservation needed!
The Augustiner Klosterwirt is an address that you should definitely visit if you are looking for a traditional Bavarian inn in downtown Munich. The Augustiner Klosterwirt is located directly at the towers of Munich Cathedral in the heart of Munich. The food in the Klosterwirt is of high quality and the service is very friendly and helpful. I myself meet there regularly with friends and acquaintances. The kitchen is really commendable. Not to be compared with other localities in the center of Munich, which I myself would like to call "tourist traps". If you are looking for really good Bavarian cuisine in the heart of Munich, you should go to the Augustiner Klosterwirt. The beer shouldn't go unnoticed at this point. Always perfect and served cool, just the way you want it! I'm already looking forward to my next visit to the Augustiner Klosterwirt!
Very friendly service and great food.
Went here for a drink and a pretzel. The drink was good, your typical Augustiner beers. Ordered a “fresh oven baked pretzel” whilst drinking, and was given a bland dry stale pretzel with no mustard! Definitely not fresh out the oven. Also hassled by a toilet attendant, who was expecting money for use of the toilet?!?
food is nice, service ok
A great tavern for Munich city center, showing that half a beer doesn't have to cost 4.80 upwards. The food is good, the prices are a bit higher here, but on average it's okay. Keep up the good work, so not only tourists come, but also the "real" Munich residents. The wait staff and the host are very friendly and always attentive. *****
A very nice reception. Very quick preparation of the food, which is of course very good. It tasted wonderful and the atmosphere in the restaurant itself was excellent. Inside the restaurant, as well as the toilets, were very hygienic and clean. The only negative point, the construction site of the Frauenkirche. However, the restaurant itself cannot help it. CONCLUSION: Can only be recommended!
Typical, very traditional restaurant. Despite being in the center, it has not lost its originality to become a tourist attraction. In this period (end of September) it is also possible to find the oktoberfest beer that I recommend to take. All dishes of Bavarian cuisine are present with delicious variations. Visited a couple of times already with friends and never disappointed.
One of the best hosts in Munich! Great cuisine and the best beer. The conditions are super friendly and helpful. The mood is always great. Recommended to everyone who visits Munich and wants to taste good Bavarian food.
Very nice ambiance, food is good, beer is amazing and service is great. Nothing to complain about really.
Super nice service! Drinks and food were ready very quickly and simply tasted great! Got a seat outside too!
The beer is delicious, even if you "save" a thumb's breadth up to the calibration mark. The food is prepared carelessly and corresponds to the previous comments. And if I replied to my review, I should contact the restaurant management directly. Why are the criticized points not simply turned off by the management?
Very nice location and hearty, excellent regional cuisine. Despite a really well-stocked beer garden, the waitresses were friendly and absolutely annoyed. A visit here is highly recommended. If you want to have one of the coveted beer garden seats in the evening, I definitely recommend making a reservation.
Fun and talkative waiter, great food and great ambiance. Five stars. The only thing I didn’t like (or understand) is the need for a “toilet lady” that collects coins when you use the restroom in the restaurant. She was really nice, so I hope she gets a good wage on top of the coins the restroom goers give her. If it were up to me, she should have the best pay, since she has the worst job.
We were very enthusiastic about the food, the service and the ambience. Very attentive and friendly staff! We felt very comfortable. The food was very good and the value for money was reasonable. With great pleasure again and definitely to be recommended!
Amazing food and friendly staff!
Very good typical germany food. The people are friendly, give a good service but could be better if they give you some.advicement about the disshes, mainly if you are a tourist. Except this small detail it is a highly recomended restaurant to visit a eat tipycal german disshes and good beer
The food came to the table super quickly. I ate an onion roast with cheese spaetzle. The cheese spaetzle tasted very good and gave the impression that they were homemade because they tasted fresh. The meat was medium as ordered, the grilled onions were super crispy, but the meat was very fatty. The sauce had a spicy meat taste that was also very good. The service was friendly and the restaurant very cultural and clean. Deduction because of the fat on the meat otherwise 5 stars. Definitely worth a visit.
Visited with a few friends, had some delicious fried Nuremberg sausages with some warming potato salad and a huge jug of authentic German beer, great stuff!
We chose this place driven by the positive reviews and we were really happy with the choice we made. Very welcoming place, nice staff, good beer. The only negative note is that what we ate was not on the English menu but only in the German one. We were lucky to see it served at the table next to ours, and since it looked appetizing, we ordered it too. It was a meat mix consisting of shank, shoulder, cutlet and sausage served with sauerkraut and potato salad. All very good and tasty pieces. Strudel good but not great. Slightly high account, around € 65.
Haxe!
Hm... We were here a couple of years ago. NOW... You can still feel the Bavarian flair, but ... In CORONA times there is really not much going on, but to `` enjoy '' it and use it for the positive to refresh this old charm nobody can think of here. Unfortunately, this is not an isolated case You just live at the expense of the past + history. Our society is changing enormously, and if the couple who do not eat knuckles have a healthy opinion, one can imagine where the soooo important guests / customers will come soon. The food, really great, compliments to the kitchen. We are not fond of fatty meat ... but if you leave out the fat, the meat disintegrates on the fork. 1A and very lean, again immediately. If you look at the menu, the price is around 23 € per person, which we probably overlooked. With additional fries + 2x small drinks we had to pay over 63 € ? Next time we'll ask, or ..................... Greetings from us .... see you soon ....
Ok
The Augustiner Bräu is located on Augustiner Straße, a side street of the pedestrian zone between Marienplatz and Karlsplatz (Stachus). Very nice service, fast service, good Bavarian cuisine, even the prices are okay for Munich. The location makes it quieter than directly in the pedestrian zone. However, there is no beer garden, otherwise 100% recommended. Please do not confuse it with the Augustiner host directly in the pedestrian zone or the Augustiner cellar.
Mega!
Very nice location, great vaulted cellar. The food is excellent, prices are as everywhere in the city center on the tourist strip. Very nice service. We will be back! Exemplary handling of the Corona protective measures.
Absolutely amazing place, with delicious food and great beer! Fully recommend! Hint: make a reservation for a table, we were lucky to come and have place (Friday 5pm was still ok) within half and hour the place was full.
Great place, service and food. Best beer in town.
Excellent pork shoulder. The meat is tender and the crust is crunchy. Quick service and nice staff.
We came late so we could only get food from the night menu but they served us amazingly! Nice and cool atmosphere!
My first visit to the Augustiner Klosterwirt. Weekend, well attended and still received a nice and not annoyed service, it tastes twice as good :) Good selection of classic dishes and I don't need to say a word about the good beer. On my next visit to Munich I will definitely try to take the time again for a delicious Augustiner and a sauerbraten!
